About the Armory

The Armory Free Theatre, located at 160 Armory Dr. in Champaign, is the primary site for student-driven productions of experimental theatre, original works, interdisciplinary projects, and events not otherwise accommodated by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Week-long residencies are intended to give students the freedom to pursue educational research as developing artists dealing with issues of topical relevance and contemporary social concerns. These residencies are granted via an application process and are typically held 4-5 times per semester.

All public events held at the Armory are free to attend and are wheelchair accessible.
